Exhibition text
Noro’s new body of work takes a look at different vices and the consequences of these within society. In these paintings, painted and collaged characters indulge in their narratives, some seem to gaze around engaged while others appear dazed as they commence in their clandestine activities. morphing objects and figures appear both abstract and figurative: Sets of eyes, Revolvers, Bambi, Saints, Chameleons. There is a strange focus on the multitude of emotional levels within these situations pointing both to the positive and negative sides of a modern life in an urban setting. In general Noro translates biographical thoughts and encounters into a painted patchwork of colours.
